Orius laevigatus, known as a predator of thrips, is a generalist beneficial insect with a preference for thrips nymphs and eggs (such as Frankliniella occidentalis and Thrips tabaci). Additionally, it controls eggs and larvae of lepidopterans and to a lesser extent red spider mites, whiteflies, and aphids. It is a natural solution to protect your crops safely and sustainably.
The product ORIUS CBi 500 comes in a tube with individuals ready for immediate release. It is recommended to release the contents directly onto the plants or near the infestation sites, preferably in the evening or early morning, ensuring maximum effectiveness. (Lights off)
To preserve and transport this predator, it must be kept at temperatures of 8 to 12 ºC, protected from direct sunlight. The release should be done within 48 hours of receipt and should not be refrigerated. It adapts perfectly to environments with temperatures between 10 and 30 ºC and relative humidity above 65%.
It can be used in preventive programs by releasing Orius on refuge plants that provide pollen, such as basil or marjoram, promoting its establishment and natural control. It is also effective in curative applications to combat active pest outbreaks, promoting the health and productivity of your crops.
