Reference buffer solution with a certified pH of 4.00, for accurate calibration of pH meters, monitors and controllers. An uncalibrated meter can give readings off by up to 1 pH point, throwing your entire nutrient programme out. 300 ml format.

An uncalibrated pH meter is worse than no meter at all. If the electrode has drifted and you haven't corrected it, you may be adjusting your nutrient solution based on a false reading — without realising it. A deviation of 0.3 or 0.5 pH points may seem minor, but in a growing environment it can lead to nutrient lockout, hard-to-diagnose deficiencies, or roots operating outside their optimal range.
Growth Technology's pH 4.00 Buffer Solution is a reference liquid with a certified, stable pH value designed to calibrate pH meters, grow room monitors and automatic controllers. Used alongside a pH 7.00 buffer, it enables a two-point calibration — the recommended method for maximum accuracy across the full measurement range.
How often should you calibrate? As a general rule: calibrate before any important measurement session, and always after the meter has been stored for a while or exposed to extreme temperatures. pH electrodes degrade gradually with use and time — regular calibration is what lets you detect when an electrode is starting to lose accuracy or needs replacing.
Instructions for use:
▸ Pour the required amount into a clean container before use
▸ Never return unused solution to the bottle — any contamination will alter the reference pH value and render the buffer unusable
▸ Rinse the electrode with distilled water before and after calibrating
▸ Store the bottle tightly sealed, away from direct light and heat sources
▸ Always use alongside a pH 7.00 buffer for two-point calibration
