TUMIGlow Starter Kit — On-Site HLVd Diagnostics for Cannabis

The TUMIGlow Starter Kit is a complete on-site diagnostic platform for detecting Hop Latent Viroid (HLVd) in cannabis plant tissue directly at your facility — no lab shipping required. Built on RT-LAMP technology with PCR-comparable performance, a validated detection limit of 4 copies/µL and objective fluorescent readout with full digital traceability. The most advanced solution available for protecting mother plants, preserving genetics and maintaining crop health at scale.

Important: Reaction Kit consumables are sold separately.

HLVd (Hop Latent Viroid) is one of the most silent and destructive pathogens that can affect a cannabis crop. It spreads through mechanical transmission — tools, gloves, surfaces and handling — and can go undetected for weeks, compromising the vigour, uniformity, quality and yield of mother plants and clones before any visual symptoms appear. A regular screening programme is the only effective way to keep it under control.

The TUMIGlow Starter Kit is the most complete platform on the market for carrying out that screening directly at your facility, without relying on external labs or waiting for results. Its optimised RT-LAMP technology delivers a validated detection limit of 4 HLVd copies per µL with over 95% accuracy at that level — a sensitivity comparable to conventional qRT-PCR methods (approximate equivalent of CT 33.2).

Unlike other detection systems, TUMIGlow results do not rely on subjectively interpreting a colour change. The touchscreen device and its software analyse the test using fluorescent signals and deliver a clear, traceable result:

▸ Green: internal control active — sample contains plant material and the reaction worked correctly

▸ Red: HLVd detected

▸ Positive: red signal + green signal

▸ Negative: green signal only

▸ Inconclusive: no signals — repeat test and review procedure

The system allows results to be recorded, exported and shared with sample identification, notes, photos and downloadable reports, supporting batch, room or genetics-level health monitoring at any production scale.

Workflow summary:

▸ Collect sample from fine root tips, avoiding thick or dead material

▸ Place sample in collection tube and homogenise

▸ Transfer 40 µL aliquot to reaction tube and seal

▸ Incubate 90 minutes in the included thermal block

▸ Automatic reading by the device with traceable result

Starter Kit contents (hardware):

▸ TUMIGlow device with touchscreen

▸ Dry bath / thermal block for incubation

▸ 2 reaction tube holders

▸ Collection tube rack

▸ Wi-Fi adapter and Ethernet via USB connectivity option

▸ Barcode reader for sample traceability

▸ User manual and onboarding materials

⚠ Important — Consumables NOT included:

Reaction tubes, collection tubes, labels, capillaries and quick-start instructions are part of the Reaction Kit and are sold separately. They are required to run tests.

Recommended screening programme:

For facilities with active mother plants and cloning, it is recommended to test each mother plant every 4–6 weeks, or a minimum of twice during its productive life, adjusting frequency to the risk level, rotation and size of the installation.
