Improve the structure of your growing medium

Pumice 3–8 mm is a natural volcanic mineral aggregate used to improve the physical properties of growing media. Its highly porous structure creates additional air spaces throughout the mix, promoting efficient drainage and root-zone oxygenation while helping maintain moisture availability.

Compared with extremely lightweight amendments such as perlite, pumice has a higher density, helping it remain more evenly distributed throughout the growing medium and providing a stable, consistent structure.

Better drainage, aeration and moisture management

The 3–8 mm particle size helps create an open substrate structure that allows excess water to drain efficiently while reducing compaction.

Its porous structure can also hold moisture within the material while maintaining air spaces around the roots. This creates a well-balanced root environment with good access to both water and oxygen, supporting healthy and vigorous root development.
