Fabric Pot Pure Pot

The most important part of a healthy plant is usually the one you never see. While most growers focus on lighting and nutrients, everything starts below the surface. A healthy root system is responsible for water uptake, nutrient absorption and overall plant performance, making the choice of container far more important than many people realise.

Pure Pot fabric grow bags are made from a durable geotextile material that allows continuous air exchange throughout the root zone. This improves oxygen availability, promotes healthier roots and reduces the risk of waterlogged areas inside the substrate, especially in coco, Living Soil and frequently irrigated crops.

One of their biggest advantages is natural air pruning. Instead of roots circling around the inside of the pot, the root tip naturally stops growing when it reaches the breathable fabric. The plant responds by producing multiple lateral roots, creating a much denser and more efficient root system capable of absorbing water and nutrients more effectively.

The breathable fabric also improves drainage and maintains better oxygen levels throughout the substrate. This creates a healthier environment for beneficial microorganisms, mycorrhizae and soil bacteria while reducing the risk of overwatering.

What you'll notice during the grow

The first improvements usually happen below the surface. As the root system becomes denser and more evenly distributed, plants tend to grow more uniformly, respond better to irrigation and make better use of the available water and nutrients.

Did you know?

Fabric pots dry faster than traditional plastic containers, which is generally a great advantage. However, under very dry conditions the outer layer of the substrate can become slightly hydrophobic. Using natural wetting agents based on saponins, such as Acti·Vera or Yucca schidigera extract, helps water spread evenly throughout the growing medium. This keeps the root zone uniformly hydrated, allowing the plant to access water and nutrients more easily without wasting unnecessary energy overcoming dry or hydrophobic areas.

Fabric pots may not seem like the most exciting upgrade at first, but many growers only realise their true value after going back to conventional plastic pots. That's when it becomes clear that a large part of a plant's potential starts below the surface—with its roots.
